President  Mahmoud Abbas received a letter from the President of Cyprus Dimitris  Christofias in which he recognized a Palestinian state within the 1967  borders, reported Palestinian news agency WAFA on Sunday.
According  to the report, in the letter, Christofias ensured historic deep  relations between the two countries and said he hoped the region will  witness a peaceful solution ensuring an independent Palestinian state  with east Jerusalem as its capital.
